S.W.A.T Design Team Red, White and Blue Blog Hop

Welcome to the first
S.W.A.T Design Team Blog Hop

Today S.W.A.T. is welcoming our new team with a Blog Hop & Challenge!

Hi! I'm Venetia, and I make stuff. I am so excited to be a part of S.W.A.T. I love creating, and I am so glad to be a part of a group of crafty peers to play. I want to inspire, and be inspired, and S.W.A.T. is a great way to have the best of both worlds. If you don't know me, I live in the beautiful Pacific Northwest with my little blended family, and enjoy scrapping, art journaling, and general creating. I can't wait to get to know you, and see YOUR creations!
For our first challenge we were given this color palette:

Here is what I did for my first S.W.A.T Challenge:

These sweet little flowers started out as turquoise, which definitely did not fit the red, white and blue challenge, so I used an ink pad to dye them a patriotic blue, and then used simmer spray to give them just a little more depth. I loved how the color turned out, and played against the denim colored background, which of course, is my idea of blue! I am absolutely a jeans and t-shirt kind of gal, and if I had to pick a favorite blue, it would be deep denim. I also inked and shimmered the stars, and used my white Signo to add some extra white elements to the layout.

The flower punch really added the right finishing touch to this layout, especially after I mirrored the design of the thickers on the punch. Luckily, my oldest daughter's first baseball game was the perfect story for this layout, and I had a lovely picture of her at the game enjoying treats.

I don't want to keep you too long, so let's get down to business! How can you play along?

It is up to you to create something using the colors Red White & Blue and link it up at S.W.A.T for a chance to win a pretty prize pack. All entries must be received by July 28th 11:59PM EST.
And isn't the Webster's Pages box incredible! Wow.
